Juice started out in the late 1960's and have a huge catalogue of music that they've developed over the decades. They have always worked as an independent band and refused to sign to any management or record label. Most of their tracks are actually recorded by the band at live shows. Shattered Dreams is a song from their Sad Affair album and was recorded when they supported Arlenderre on his Trick of the Light tour. Check out more songs and albums on their website Musical Juice
Sarah lives in a shadow. She owns a large Victorian house in Gosforth where she spends her time alone and has few visitors. Like a modern day Miss Havisham, she never moves beyond her heartbreak. She has a distorted view of how she remembers things and how they really were. Like a hall of mirrors. Twisted reality and altered images. She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (manic depression) and finds it impossible to cope with normality. She wants her life to be like it could have been. Like it would have been if she'd only done things differently. She knows now what she didn't know then, but that doesn't help. It's too late to change the past. It's over and she missed her chance. She blames herself. She sees no future and continues dreaming those long, lost, shattered dreams.
You can't go on
Building your world
Upon shattered dreams
You can't go on living your life in the past
Oh, no, you've got to learn to realise
It wasn't what it seems
Foolish plans in careless hands
It was never gonna last
You can't go on
Wasting your love
On a broken heart
You can't go on wanting what's already gone
Oh, no, you've got to learn to realise
That you're worlds apart
Distant days, a different place
It's over and done
Just don't go on wishing and turning your hopes
Into shattered dreams
The pieces are missing just look around
There's nothing there
Don't think that there's somebody waiting
Who understands how it feels
No one's gonna know
No one's gonna care
You can't go on
Hiding away from reality
You can't go on seeking what you'll never find
Oh, no, you've got to learn to realise
It's all fantasy
Twisted views
Altered truths
You're losing your mind
"Time stands still
Yet everything turns to dust"
Miss Havisham
"She was dressed in rich materials -- satins, and lace, and silks -- all of white. Her shoes were white. And she had a long white veil dependent from her hair, and she had bridal flowers in her hair, but her hair was white. Some bright jewels sparkled on her neck and on her hands, and some other jewels lay sparkling on the table. Dresses, less splendid than the dress she wore, and half-packed trunks, were scattered about. She had not quite finished dressing for she had but one shoe on -- the other was on the table near her hand . . . "
